The Wrath of Kai (Formerly Yugioh GX TF TG Story) - Chapter 10


"Well it's my turn now!" Syrus yelled. "I play Vehicleroid Connection Zone, which allows me to fuse Steamroid, Drilloid, and Submarineroid together, into Super Vehicleroid Jumbo Drill!" A large red, orange, and purple submarine appeared on the field, equipped with treads at its sides and a large drill mounted on its nose. Again, DNA surgery activated, and Jumbo Drill changed into a similarly colored dragon with a large, drill-like horn on its nose. "Attack that freak directly!"

Jumbo Drill turned, revving up its drill. Unfortunately, its horn was turned towards Chazz. "Not that freak! The scaled one!" Syrus corrected, and Jumbo Drill turned to face Kai.

"Hey, I resent that!" Alexis called behind Syrus, but he disregarded it.

Kai was tossed back as Jumbo Drill lowered its head and rammed into him, dropping his points to 16200. He stood back up and wiped his snout, where a small cut had formed between two of his scales. "Heh, not bad kid," He said. "You might have the stuff to step out of Zane's shadow after all."

"That has nothing to do with you!" Syrus angrily retorted. "I end!"

"Hey, cool it Sy," Atticus chided, drawing his card. "Remember, Blues are supposed to act with courtesy. Don't start acting like Chazz."

"Hey!"

"You cool off too Chazz, learn to take a compliment!" Atticus quickly studied his cards, then he grinned. "All right! I summon Red-Eyes Black Chick!" A small red egg appeared on the field, which quickly cracked, revealing a small black dragon hatchling. "Next I activate Chick's ability, which allows me to summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" Red-Eyes quickly grew up, changing into the full-sized Red-Eyes Black Dragon. "Next I play the spell Inferno Fire Blast, which hits you with 2400 point of damage!"

Red-Eyes opened its mouth and blasted Kai with a dark-red sphere of energy, lowering his Life Points to 13800.

"Now I sacrifice Red-Eyes Black Dragon," said Atticus, voice rising in anticipation of his big reveal. "To summon Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon!"  Red-Eyes morphed into a larger black dragon, with intricate orange markings on its face, culminating in a large red gem centered between its eyes. "Attack with Infernal Darkfire!" a blast of dark energy emanated from Darkness Dragon's mouth, bathing Kai completely and lowering his points again to 10800. "I'll end with a face-down."

This play continued, each duellist bringing out their best monsters. Hassleberry played Monster Reborn and brought back Dark Triceratops, which he sacrificed to play Big Evolution Pill, allowing him to...

"I summon Super Conductor Tyranno!" Hassleberry yelled as a large green and silver dinosaur materialized in front of him. "Attack him directly!" Tyranno opened its mouth and blasted Kai with a ray of multicoloured energy, dropping his points to 7500.

"It's the Chazz's turn again!" shouted Chazz. "I play Level Modulation! With this, you draw 2 cards, and I can summon Armed Dragon LV7!" LV7 re-appeared behind Chazz, and he continued. "Now, I send LV7 to the graveyard to Summon Armed Dragon LV10!" Chazz's monster grew bigger, and now stood on just two legs, towering above the other monsters.

"Attack him directly!"

LV10 swiped at Kai, throwing him into a wall, knocking his points down to 4500.

"Wow, you're getting close." Kai said, again standing up. "But I still have Life Points."

"Well, let's see if I can take some away from you!" Bastion replied. "I play Foolish Burial, which allows me to send Oxygeddon from my deck to my graveyard! Next, I play the Shallow Grave, which allows each of us to summon 1 monster from our graveyard! I summon Oxygeddon!" A Pteradon created out of Cyan liquid appeared beside Bastion's face-down monster.

"Well then, I guess I'll re-summon my Five Guardian Dragon!" sneered Kai, as the giant dragon appeared behind him.  

"Too bad Kai," said Bastion. "But your dragon won't help you! I activate my face-down card, Raigeki Break! With this, by discarding Hydrogeddon, I can destroy your dragon!"

"What? No!"

A bolt of lightning exploded out of Bastion's flipped card and engulfed Kai's dragon, destroying it again.

"Next, I flip summon my Hydrogeddon!" Bastion continued, as his face-down monster flipped up, revealing a lizard-like monster made entirely of brown liquid. "Now, I activate the Spell Card Living Fossil, which allows me to Special Summon the Hydrogeddon from my graveyard!" A second lizard-like monster appeared beside the first. "Next, I activate the spell card Bonding H2O, which allows me the sacrifice my 3 monsters to summon Water Dragon!"

The three monsters merged and fused, becoming a large, blue serpent, made entirely out of water. Again, DNA Surgery activated, and Water Dragon began to change, scales growing over its watery body, fore and hind legs emerging from the water, a pair of sea blue wings growing from the dragon's back, until standing behind Bastion was a large blue dragon. "Attack Kai's Life Points directly!"

Water Dragon reared back on its new hind legs, and released a jet of water from its mouth, engulfing Kai and reducing his points from 4500 to 1700.

"Ok, now it's my turn." Jasmine said, drawing a card. "I'll start with Graceful Charity, which allows me to draw 3 cards, and then discard 2. Then I play Disgraceful Charity, so until the end of my turn, I don't have to discard any cards, allowing me to add the two cards I discarded to my hand. Next, the effect of Watapon in my hand activates, so I can Special Summon it to my side of the field!" A small, pink ball of fluff with a pair of antennae and big, blue eyes appeared beside Jasmine and she continued. "Next, I play my facedown card, Ultimate Offering, which allows me to summon Rescue Cat at hte cost of 00 life points!"  Beside Watapon appeared a small, tabby cat wearing a hard hat. "Now, I'll activate the effect of Rescue Cat, allowing me to sacrifice it to special summon two Level 3 or lower monsters from my deck." Rescue Cat vanished. "So I summon 2 more Watapons!" a pair of Watapons appeared beside the first, and Jasmine continued. "Now, I sacrifice my three Watapons to summon Artemis!" the Watapons vanished, replaced by a young women dress in a white silk tunic, carrying a bow and quiver of arrows. However, due to DNA surgery, Artemis changed, becoming a large white dragon. "Now I activate Artemis's effect, so for every sacrifice I made after the first one, I can destroy one of your face-down cards!

"What? NO!" Kai yelled as Artemis reared back, and blast both of his face-down cards with ice shard from her mouth, obliterating them.

"And you know what else?" Jasmine continued. "She has 2600 ATK points, more than enough to finish you off!"

"Alright Jasmine!" Alexis cheered.

"Where did you learn to duel like that?" Mindy asked.

"I asked Bastion for some advice. And he helped me practice," Jasmine said.

Everyone looked at Bastion, whose face had turned bright red. "What?" he asked. "I can't help out another student?"

Chazz smirked. "Sure Bastion, I'm sure that was all you asked to help out with."

"Artemis, Attack!" Jasmine yelled.

Artemis reared back again, a blue charge beginning to form in its mouth. The charge grew bigger and bigger, until it was almost too big to fit inside its mouth, then, with a flash of blue light, the ball was launched towards Kai.

The explosion was similar to a nuke.

Everyone reeled from the shockwaves released by the blast, and thick blue smoke covered Kai's side of the room.

"That we beat him?" Jasmine asked.

"I think so," Jaden replied.

"I'm afraid not."

Everyone gasped as the smoke cleared, revealing an upright Kai. The lifepoints on his duel disk were down to 100.

"You were close," he nodded. "But not close enough. Now, the real game begins."
